The 12 Angels of Christmas - Day 1

To celebrate the twelve days of Christmas,
my Dad is writing a blog series called
"The Twelve Creches of Christmas."

Inspired by this, I've decided to write my own version, called
"The 12 Angels of Christmas."

The nativity angel, dedicated in memory of Steve.

Today's angel is one I had made for the nativity
at St. John's York Mills Church.
Dad has also featured the nativity on his blog, so you can read the story here.

I remember when I first saw your featured angel. We all felt it addded a further dimension to Diana's nativity wood carvings. Together they announce the birth of that special God/child. Looking forward to seeing the coming angels. It's like waiting to see what is wrapped in a Christmas gift under the tree.

This year at St. John's, they put up the nativity before Christmas, but saved the Jesus and angel figures until Christmas Eve. I loved the thought of the baby and the angels waiting in a secret place until the 'big moment' arrived.
